I take dexilant- it is time released so it works all day and the dr gave me a savings card that comes with it so I got it for free at the pharmacy- the company that makes dexilant paid for the remainer of the copay

and at night just before bed i take target brand of zantac and i avoid eating 3 hrs before bed and do not eat foods that cause reflux to get bad

and it all works well for me

I have it really badly. I was supposed to have an operation for it but fell pregnant so the operation was cancelled.

For me obviously avoiding acidic foods helps, I know you don’t want a list of things you shouldn’t be eating but it does help to know what to avoid. The main ones to avoid for me are salad, spicy foods, sweets, drinks such as pure fruit juices and so on..

I have to take one 20mg omeprazole a day, they are the strongest form of tablet for GERD and DO NOT harm the baby, I’m 27 weeks, all my ultrasounds have been perfect so I know baby is OK :)

Anyway, as far as natural remedies go, dairy things help me, such as yoghurt, especially when the acid reflux is bad, or a glass of milk. I always have a glass of milk when I get acid reflux instead of taking any tums, rennies and so on and it really does help.

On a night sleep elevated if you can and try not to eat to close to bedtime,

good luck, it’s a nightmare I know!

I am 25 years old. I suffer from GERD and Dyspepsia. There are days when I feel really sick and I feel really scared and depressed because I think that I might get cancer or something in the future and that makes me feel anxious and hopeless. I take one or 2 Protonix every day. I also try to have small meals but sometimes that doesn’t help. I talk to my doctors about this but they say that I’ll be fine. I’ve had an Endoscopy, Bravo test, sonogram, and they say it’s GERD and Dyspepsia (painful)Are there natural remedies or something that can cure this? Please help. Eat smaller meals and stay sitting up after you eat. Put bricks under the head of your bed to raise your head up slightly while you sleep. This will help keep the acid from traveling up your esophagus.
