Try a good probiotic and digestive enzyme. I personally like the brand MegaFoods – they have really high quality product for a decent price… That has helped my husband tremendously.

i got permanent relief from “Gerd / acid reflux” by pinpointing my food intolerances and eliminating them from my diet …… the intolerances i have that will automatically produce acid reflux are lactose intolerance and soy intolerance ……. eliminate milk and dairy products for a week and see if your symptoms abate ……… ie ~ milk, cheese, icecream, chocolate, butter, yoghurt, candy (yes, they put lactose into many sweets and candies) etc.etc…… and pump up your intake of leafy and green vegies like broccolli, kale, chard, celery, buk choy….. all spectacularly rich in both calcium and magnesium and vitamin C too ……. which, btw, are ALL needed for the effective assimilation of calcium …. good for strong bones, teeth, heart health, neural functioning, healthy digestion ….. good energisers too ……. good fatigue busters and great for healthy hair skin and nails.

    peace baby

    Hi Kim,

Try to eat 4-5 small meals a day instead of 1-2 large, heavy meals. Do not eat just before going to bed and avoid eating in a hurry. Proper chewing is very important.

Raise the head end of your bed by about 3-4 inches, using bed blocks or bricks. Pillows over pillows won’t help.

Many herbal and homeopathic remedies have been formulated with specific ingredients to assist the body in maintaining harmony in the esophagus and stomach. Melissa officinalis is well known for its soothing and calming properties as well as being widely prescribed by herbalists for the relief of all complaints related to anxiety and stress.

This herbal ingredient is excellent at relaxing cramps, improving digestion problems and treating gastric complaints. A homeopathic remedy such as Mag. Phos (a biochemic tissue salt) helps to quickly ease digestive discomfort including cramps, excessive flatulence and hiccups. It also helps to improve general functioning of the intestines, preventing constipation and diarrhea.
