I don’t know if it’ll work for you, but I used to eat raw brocolli.

Eat small frequent meals, drink full glass water past meals, avoid greasy, spicy, fried foods.Sit up at least 45 minutes past eating, don’t lay down. Can take over the counter antacids. The problem with not treating gerd with medication is that over time you can develop erosions or ulcers in your esophagus (food tube) If you can’t afford the medication, find out which drug company makes it,go to their website, click on patient assistance. If you are truly indigent they will send you the medication free.

dido CHERRYPIE, only don’t drink water, it makes it worse! Try a small glass of warm milk (or room temp milk) instead. I have Gerd and the only think that helps me get thru the days is ZANTAC 150/ 2 times a day (once in the morning and once at night/afternoon). Try watching your sodium intake also, as I discovered the less sodium I eat the lighter my case is that day. ROLAIDS chewables are nice to keep around also! Good luck!
